Ha Tinh Province, December 11, 2025 – Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) donated 670,800 acacia seedlings to local households in Ky Hoa Commune to support the restoration of forest ecosystems severely damaged by Typhoon Bualoi, while creating sustainable livelihoods for local communities. This initiative brings the total number of trees donated and planted by SeABank to over one million, contributing to reforestation efforts across the country.
Typhoon Bualoi, struck in September 2025, has caused severe damage across central region of Vietnam, particularly Ha Tinh province, leaving thousands of hectares of forest destroyed and significantly impacting both the environment and local livelihoods. In response, SeABank coordinated with local authorities to donate nearly 671,000 acacia seedlings, covering a total area of 448 hectares in Ky Hoa Commune.
The donated tree species is certified acacia seedlings, known for their fast growth, resilience to harsh weather conditions, and suitability for Ha Tinh’s mountainous terrain. This forestry species also provides stable economic value for local communities while enhancing forest coverage, supporting ecosystem restoration, and serving as a natural buffer against future natural disasters.
The tree donation program in Ha Tinh marks a significant milestone in SeABank’s sustainable journey and its commitment to environmental protection. With 670,800 trees in this program, the total number of trees donated and planted by SeABank nationwide has reached 1,021,890, surpassing the one-million-tree target 3 years ahead of schedule.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the BOD SeABank, shared: “The tree donation program in Ha Tinh highlights a significant milestone, reaffirming SeABank’s strong commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. One million trees is not merely a number, but one million hopes for a greener and cleaner Vietnam. We place particular emphasis on integrating environmental protection with livelihood support to ensure long-term impact for local communities, while contributing to the Government’s goal of planting one billion new trees and promoting a green lifestyle through concrete, meaningful actions.”
A representative of Ky Hoa Commune People’s Committee stated: “SeABank’s support is a crucial resource, enabling local residents to rapidly restore forests after natural disasters. The program not only provides economic support but also contributes to our local environmental protection, landscape improvement, and sustainable development.”

Sustainable development has been a consistent strategic priority of SeABank for years. Beyond tree-planting, the Bank actively promotes a wide range of environmental protection programs, including emissions reduction, waste classification, coastal and public area clean-up, encouragement of digital banking services to minimize paper usage, alongside communication efforts to raise public awareness of green and sustainable lifestyles.
The successful implementation of the tree-planting program in Ha Tinh and the achievement of the one-million-tree milestone demonstrate SeABank’s practical contribution to the Government’s “One Billion Trees for the 2021–2025 Period” initiative. These efforts further reinforce SeABank’s positioning as a bank that integrates business growth with social responsibility, placing people and the environment at the core of its long-term strategic vision.
