SeABank’s “Dream Nurturing” Fund sponsors 10 more underprivileged students with strong academic determination: Continuing a decade-long journey of sowing dreams

An unwavering journey of enlightening knowledge

The “Dream Nurturing” Scholarship Fund was established by SeABank in 2015 with the aspiration to accompany and support disadvantaged children who overcome challenges to study and improve academically. Since its establishment, the Fund has granted lifelong scholarships covering the entire school years, valued at VND 1 million/month/student until high school graduation. Currently, the amount has been increased to VND 1.5 million/month/student. In addition, each graduate receives a ‘Start-up scholarship’ of VND 10 million to support them on their future journey, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of society.

From a humanitarian idea, the “Dream Nurturing” Fund has grown into a symbol of spreading meaningful values at SeABank, connecting compassionate hearts within the community to support future generations. Year after year, not only has the number of beneficiary students increased, but the community spirit among SeABank employees has also flourished. In 2025, celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Fund has extended sponsorship to 10 more underprivileged yet studious students in Hanoi, Bac Ninh, and Hai Phong, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 219.

After a thorough selection process, 10 students were chosen not only for their difficult circumstances but also for their admirable determination and persistent learning spirit. The new beneficiaries will officially receive their scholarships starting from July 2025 until high school graduation. Scholarships will be transferred directly to their guardians’ bank account. Among the students sponsored in this round, the case of Nguyen Hai Thuy Ngan (Bac Ninh) is particularly challenging. Ngan lost her father, while her mother, who is the family’s sole breadwinner, is battling a serious illness. Her mother’s only income comes from washing dishes at a restaurant, supporting two children as well as elderly parents who are no longer able to work. Despite these hardships, Ngan is an outstanding student in class 6A at Lim Secondary School (Bac Ninh), winning a Consolation Prize in Literature in the Excellent Student Contest last school year, and is well-loved by her teachers and friends.

There are lives that might seem easily defeated by hardships, however, Ngan and many other studious students under the Fund are living proof of the power of determination. 

Writing the next chapter of our community journey

A decade has passed since the Fund first began granting monthly scholarship to accompany 219 underprivileged yet studious students on their journey to conquer knowledge. Currently, the Fund has provided nearly VND13 billion in educational promotion. More than just financial assistance each scholarship carries a message of heartfelt encouragement, a trusting handshake from SeABank employees who are always willing to share. So far, 59 of “Dream Nurturing” students have graduated from high school, with many continuing their studies at universities and colleges, opening doors to dreams that once seemed out of reach.

At the 2024 National High School Graduation Exam, Nguyen Thu Trang (sponsored by the Fund since 2018) has excelled in all subjects, achieving an impressive total score of 28.8 out of 30, high enough to gain admission to all applied majors. This determined young girl finally chose a Digital Marketing major at the University of Commerce, through an admission process based on academic records and IELTS certificate. Trang grew up without her mother’s care, living with her grandmother and father. When she was in 11th grade, her grandmother passed away, leaving only Trang and her father to rely solely on each other. Her father does not have a stable job to provide for a comfortable life, yet Trang has persevered day by day, overcoming hardships to consistently maintain her position as an excellent student with performance at the top of class.

“In the journey ahead, I will always remember that I am not alone, that I always have the support of people wholeheartedly dedicated to the growth of the younger generation, like the uncles and aunts at SeABank. With the support of the Dream Nurturing Fund, I can confidently continue my academic journey. I hope that one day soon, I will also be able to contribute to the community, just as SeABank has been doing,” - Trang shared upon receiving the Fund’s Startup Scholarship.

Education is considered the foundation for brighter future, a solid launching pad for the young generation to change their lives. This is also the key reason behind the establishment of the Dream Nurturing Scholarship Fund. SeABank’s companionship with these students is not merely about supporting with tuition fees, but rather a sustainable commitment, a motivation that empowers them to develop themselves, live responsibly, and enhance the skills needed to one day become valuable citizens and active contributors to the community. The vast sky out there awaits the small yet strong and confident birds, ready to spread their wings. The Dream Nurturing Fund believes that each student will soar toward a bright and happy future, growing into courageous, intelligent citizens — full of enthusiasm and the aspiration to contribute to the nation’s development.
