Hanoi, April 2, 2023 – Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, Stock code SSB) is honoured to be recognized by the Vietnam Private Business Association (VPBA) with two awards, the Top 10 “Outstanding Enterprises and Entrepreneurs of 2022 for the cause of safeguarding the Fatherland”. The awards were presented at the 2nd Private Economy Forum – 2022, aimed at acknowledging and honouring exemplary enterprises and entrepreneurs in the endeavour of nation-building and safeguarding.
The title “Oustanding Enterprises and Entrepreneurs for the cause of Safegaurding the Fatherland” is recognized and awarded by VPBA to businesses and entrepreneurs who compy the laws and regulations. Paticipating businesses must be meet the following criteria: economic effectiveness (revenue, profit, budget contributions); fuffilling responsibilities to employees, society, and the community; promoting bussiness culture and environmental protection. Entrepreneurs participating in the selection process must excel in business, adhere to state policies and laws, contribute to society, particularly in term of creativity and innovation, and demonstrate excellent performance in production and business tasks.
With efficient business results and continued strong growth in recent times, SeABank is honoured to be recognized as one of the Top 10 "Outstanding Enterprises for the cause of safeguarding the Fatherland." This is both an encouragement and recognition of SeABank's efforts, while also motivating other businesses to strive for further development and improvement in their core activities.
In the individual category, aiming to recognize the journey of striving and the exceptional achievements and contributions of entrepreneurs in business operations and social contributions, contributing to the development of civilized and prosperous businesses and the nation of Vietnam, Ms Le Thu Thuy - Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of SeABank (General Director from 2018 to 2022) is also honoured to be recognized in the Top 10 "Outstanding Entrepreneurs for the cause of safeguarding the Fatherland." This acknowledges her outstanding accomplishments in business management, with a strong national spirit and significant contributions to social activities.
In recent years, SeABank has experienced strong growth in terms of its charter capital, total assets, and profits. The bank's charter capital has continuously increased, from 7,688 billion VND in 2018 to nearly 20,403 billion VND at the beginning of 2023, providing SeABank with greater financial strength to achieve its goals. This includes the continued implementation of a convergence strategy, substantial investments in technology and comprehensive digitalization of operational processes in credit activities, payment services, customer services, and diversification of product offerings. These efforts aim to enhance operational efficiency and transactions, improve customer experiences, and better meet the needs of all customers.
SeABank has received significant support from major international organizations such as DFC, IFC, and five long-term international investment funds, with a total amount of nearly 600 million USD. This support aims to enhance financial capacity, increase capital for supporting private businesses, particularly those owned by women, and provide assistance for green credit and climate change mitigation.
Furthermore, SeABank is also one of the first banks to implement the international risk management standards of Basel III. It has also been rated Ba3 by Moody in several important categories, reflecting the bank's high-quality assets, profitability, and appropriate capital sources to maintain stable and sustainable development.
In 2023, SeABank will continue to develop according to the retail banking strategies that have been set, with a special focus on "Convergence of Numbers" - integrating modern technology into operational and business activities, digitizing products and services, and enhancing customer experience. With this direction, SeABank promises to continue to achieve breakthroughs and successes in business, as well as bring more value to customers, contribute to the community, and increase competitiveness in the domestic market and expand internationally.
