November 15th, 2024 - Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) organized an extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) to elect 02 additional members to the Supervisory Board for the remainder of the 2023 - 2028 term, increasing the total number of board members to 05 members. SeABank also re-elected Head of the Supervisory Board to enhance the board’s capacity and operational efficiency, and to align with good international corporate governance standards.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh and Mr. Luong Duy Dong were entrusted with and elected by the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) to act as members of the Supervisory Board for the 2023-2028 term with 100% approval. Both new members have extensive experience in the banking and finance sector as well as seniority at SeABank. They also meet the standards and requirements prescribed by Vietnamese law, and have been approved by the State Bank of Vietnam according to Document No. 9333/NHNN-TTGSNH.
At the EGM, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh was also elected as Head of the Supervisory Board, replacing Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Quynh who has quitted the Head position due to personal wishes. Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Quynh would continue to serve as member of the Supervisory Board of SeABank for the remainder of 2023-2028 term.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh was born in 1973, Bachelor of economics - Banking Academy, has nearly 30 years of experience in the banking sector. Mr. Quynh has worked at SeABank for more than 20 years in various positions, including nearly 10 years of senior management as Deputy CEO. With extensive experience, management and governance capacity, together with extensive understanding of banking operations in general and SeABank in particular, Mr. Quynh is expected to make great contributions to the activities of both the Supervisory Board and the Bank.
The EGM also elected Mr. Luong Duy Dong, born in 1986, Bachelor of Auditing from the National Economics University. Mr. Dong has 16 years of working experience in auditing, including: 3 years as auditor at Deloitte Vietnam Co., Ltd.; 9 years as internal auditor at SeABank; and 4 years as Head of Supervisory Board of Post and Telecommunication Finance Company Limited (PTF). With special experience in the field of auditing, Mr. Luong Duy Dong shows great promise to make remarkable contributions and to improve the capacity of SeABank's internal audit team.
The election of additional Supervisory Board members is to meet the requirements of the Law on Credit Institutions 2024. Meanwhile, this promises an improvement of SeABank’s management and governance capacity, especially supervision activities and the implementation of the sustainable development strategy with a focus on Governance - Environment - Society (ESG).
