The Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, mã chứng khoán SSB) has officially completed the increase of its charter capital to nearly 20,403 billion VND through the issuance of shares to employees under the ESOP Program in 2022. This is a welfare program that SeABank has been implementing regularly for many years to show gratitude for the contributions of its employees and to align their interests with the bank's development.
Accordingly, the State Bank of Vietnam has issued Decision No. 177/QD-NHNN dated February 8, 2023, approving the adjustment of SeABank's charter capital on its Operating License from 19,809 billion VND to nearly 20,403 billion VND. The additional increase in the charter capital of 594 billion VND was implemented through the issuance of shares under the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) program in 2022, which was approved by SeABank's General Meeting of Shareholders. Under SeABank's ESOP program in 2022, nearly 2,500 employees of the bank were able to purchase shares at a preferential price of 15,000 VND per share. This is a welfare program that SeABank has been implementing regularly for many years to show gratitude for the contributions of its employees and to align their interests with the bank's development.
By the end of 2022, SeABank achieved favourable business results with a pre-tax profit of nearly 5,069 billion VND, and the bank maintained a stable growth rate with positive indicators: Total assets reached 231,423 billion VND, a 9.34% increase compared to 2021; the Return on Average Assets (ROA) and Return on Average Equity (ROE) were 1.83% and 18.1%, respectively. The Cost-to-Income Ratio (CIR) continued to decrease to 35.3%, and the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio decreased to 1.60%. Notably, the Net Operating Income from Non-Interest Activities (NOII) grew impressively by 43% compared to 2021, reaching 2,641 billion VND. This ratio demonstrates the effectiveness of product structure diversification, as well as the efficient utilization of existing customer portfolios and the development of a new customer network in the market.
With these achievements, SeABank was honoured by The Banker as the Best Bank in Vietnam 2022 at the Bank of the Year 2022 awards ceremony. SeABank is the only representative from Vietnam and one of the 22 outstanding banks in the Asia-Pacific region to be recognized at this year's awards.
