In response to the movement "For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind" launched by the Prime Minister, as well as the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support the construction of solidarity houses for the people of Dien Bien, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, stock code SSB) has donated 5 billion VND to support the construction and repair of houses for 100 poor and near-poor households in Dien Bien province. Up to the present time, SeABank has donated nearly 226 houses to poor families in difficult circumstances nationwide.
According to the statistics of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province (as of March 31, 2023), there are 7,447 households categorized as policy beneficiary households, poor households, and near-poor households living in temporary, dilapidated, and damaged houses that need renovation and repair. With the desire to join hands with the local authorities and people of Dien Bien province to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, and provide solid and stable homes for poor families to settle down and improve their lives, SeABank has donated 5 billion VND to support the construction and repair of houses for 100 poor and near-poor households in Dien Bien province.
Supporting the construction and repair of houses for poor households is a practical and socially significant activity that SeABank always prioritizes. Up to the present time, SeABank has donated nearly 226 houses to poor families in difficult circumstances nationwide. In 2022, the bank donated 5 billion VND, equivalent to 100 houses, to support the construction of houses for the poor in Tuyen Quang province through the program "Building Houses for poor households, policy beneficiary families, and Families with revolutionary merits" launched by the Ministry of Public Security.
For several consecutive years, SeABank has collaborated with Vietnamnet newspaper to build and donate 10 charity houses to households in difficult circumstances in Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Can Tho, and other provinces. In 2020, SeABank collaborated with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province and the Khanh Hoa Red Cross Association to donate 10 charity houses to poor households in Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province, helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Furthermore, to express gratitude to those who have contributed to the nation, SeABank has also collaborated with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the "For Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Beloved Club" to donate 6 houses to the families of struggling soldiers in Dong Nai province, to support more officers, soldiers, and fishermen who are dedicated to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
Through these meaningful activities, SeABank hopes to contribute to the promotion of solidarity among ethnic groups, organizations, and the care for ethnic minority communities and revolutionary bases, who have made significant contributions and sacrifices to the national liberation cause, as well as to help improve the quality of life and settlement for poor households, in line with the core value of "For the Community" and towards the sustainable development of the bank.
