Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, stock code: SSB) is honored at the prestigious UN Women WEPs Award 2024 (Women's Empowerment Principles 2024) for category "Gender Equality in the Marketplace”, voted by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). This recognizes SeABank's contributions and efforts in supporting women-owned businesses, and is in line with the Bank's goals as the pioneer to sign a commitment on gender equality.
Over the years, SeABank has always paid special attention to women-owned businesses. This was further affirmed when SeABank became one of the two pioneering Vietnamese banks to sign commitment on gender equality.
With the aim of becoming a reliable financial support for businesswomen, SeABank has launched preferential policies which provide adequate capital for women-owned businesses to expand production and business activities, moving closer to sustainable development goals.
Accordingly, various products and services are provided exclusively for women such as: SeALady credit card; SeAWomen credit package in collaboration with the Vietnam Women's Union; special version for businesswomen on internet banking application SeAMobile, etc.
Take financial access barriers of women-owned businesses into consideration, SeABank offers a variety of preferential policies, comprehensive solutions and supportive loans, together with improved credit guarantee mechanisms and consulting services, to maximize support for women-owned businesses. Specifically, businesses can access to capital in various forms in line with their industry: preferential interest rates, unsecured overdraft limit of maximum VND 5 billion; credit limit of up to VND 200 million for corporate credit cards. This demonstrates the Bank's special favor for female business owners.
Notably, SeABank launched SeAPower Club – Vietnam’s first club for women-owned businesses coming with a series of high-class privileges. With this initiative, SeABank is honored by UN Women at the UN Women WEPs Award 2024 for the category "Gender Equality in the Marketplace". This is one of the most prestigious awards to honor businesses with active implementation and activities related to the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Principles. According to representative of the Organizing Committee, the "Gender Equality in the Marketplace" category is to recognize companies that, besides applying the principles, actively improve the working environment, increase diversity and inclusion of the value chain, and support women-owned businesses.
SeAPower is a breakthrough initiative by SeABank to create a space of networking for outstanding female leaders, meanwhile providing comprehensive care and promoting the enhancement of business capacity for this group. In today’s increasingly competitive market, valuable support and network from such an elite community will strengthen women-owned businesses and facilitate further grow.
Accordingly, a series of preferential policies is tailored for women-owned businesses such as: preferential loan interest rates, free early repayment, unsecured overdraft limit of up to VND 5 billion, and other.
In addition, members can participate in exclusive forums and online training courses to improve skills and knowledge through discussions and consultation with leading experts; have staff training programs customized based on business demands. SeABank also offers a variety of non-financial benefits and privileges such as: incentives for products and services in the fields of beauty, fashion, tourism, and businesses from SeABank's partners; member identification gift sets; and opportunities to join private parties for high-class.
The UN Women WEPs Award 2024 demonstrates SeABank’s clear commitment on accompanying and supporting women-owned businesses, aiming to become the “trusted destination for women-owned businesses”.
