Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) has been honored for the 5th time at the Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards 2026, receiving the “Outstanding Bank for the Community” category. The Bank also received the “Best Sustainable Bank in Vietnam 2026” award at the Global Banking & Finance Awards. These honors recognize SeABank’s community initiatives, sustainable finance activities and integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into its banking operations.
Vietnam Outstanding Banking Awards (VOBA) is an annual program organized by the Vietnam Banks Association in collaboration with IDG to recognize institutions that have made notable achievements and positive contributions to the banking sector, the economy and the community. This year’s entries were evaluated based on criteria including innovation, creativity, practical applicability, benefits for customers and banks, and development potential.
SeABank’s long-standing social initiatives were a key factor in its recognition in the “Outstanding Bank for the Community” category. Over the years, the Bank has contributed more than VND 280 billion to community activities, built nearly 1,800 homes for disadvantaged families, planted over one million trees, and supported more than 220 disadvantaged children in continuing their education until the age of 18. In addition, SeABank implements four recurring social welfare, charitable and environmental protection initiatives each year, including the provision of essential supplies and support for people in local communities.
From education and social welfare to environmental protection, SeABank tailors its community initiatives to the specific needs of different beneficiary groups and localities, prioritizing long-term support over short-term assistance in hardship. This approach also connects the Bank’s community engagement with its customer-centric development orientation.
Beyond community initiatives, SeABank integrates ESG factors into its strategy and banking operations, aiming to balance business performance with environmental and social responsibility. The Bank has implemented an Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) to incorporate environmental and social considerations into its credit assessment process.
This approach is reflected in SeABank’s capital mobilization and allocation activities. The Bank has successfully mobilized nearly USD 1.1 billion of international funding to support green finance, financial inclusion for SMEs and women-owned businesses, sustainable infrastructure, environmental and climate initiatives. SeABank is also a pioneer in Vietnam in issuing Blue Bonds and Green Bonds in accordance with international standards.
SeABank also places strong emphasis on information transparency in environmental, social and governance impacts. The Bank publishes a dedicated sustainability report in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

These efforts in sustainable finance, ESG integration, international capital mobilization and transparent disclosure were among the aspects considered by Global Banking & Finance Review in awarding “Best Sustainable Bank in Vietnam 2026”. The award recognizes institutions and leaders in banking and finance based on various criteria, including innovation, growth, customer service, governance and contributions to the market.
The awards recognize SeABank’s ongoing efforts and commitment to sustainable development, as acknowledged by Vietnam’s domestic and international financial communities. They also encourage the Bank to remain steadfast in its sustainable development strategy, linking business growth with social responsibility to create greater tangible value for customers and communities.
