Recently, many citizens have been unexpectedly denied exit from the country at the airport due to unpaid taxes. Currently, citizens can proactively check their tax debt information and exit ban status online using two simple methods:
1. Searching on the Tax Department Website
Step 1: Access the General Department of Taxation website at: https://gdt.gov.vn.
Step 2:
- Select the "Public Services" section. Then select "Public disclosure of tax debt enforcement".
- Here, citizens can search for information in two sections: Taxpayers with tax debt enforcement decisions and Taxpayers with exit notices.
Enter your tax identification number (or just the confirmation code as requested by the system) and click "Search".
The system will display detailed information if the taxpayer is subject to tax debt enforcement or temporary exit suspension.
2. Searching on the eTax Mobile Application
Step 1: Open the eTax Mobile application and log in.
Step 2: Select the "Tax Payment" section and click "Search".
The results will then appear as follows:
+ If the system displays "No data found": The taxpayer does not owe any tax.
+ If the system displays the amount of tax payable: The taxpayer still has outstanding tax obligations and needs to pay them as required.
Additionally, to check if you are currently under a travel ban, you can: Go to the "Notification Lookup" section. Select "Notification regarding travel ban". Information will be displayed here if there are any travel restrictions.
