Hanoi, on April 25th 2013, Southeast Asia Joint Stock Commercial Bank - SeABank was honorably voted and presented “Best Cloud Base Project 2013” award - one award in the banking technology award system, for SeABank’s outstanding improvements in information technology application and cloud computing by The Asian Banker – a leading financial forum in Asia.
This award was given in the Asian Banker Summit 2013 held in Jakarta – Indonesia from April 23rd –April 25th 2013. This is an annual international summit with the representatives from 32 countries for banking - finance discussion and experience sharing.
In the category of banking technology 2013, more than 60 banks from 20 countries across the Asia Pacific were nominated for voting. Selection criteria were based on the best technology application in implementation as well as innovative solutions to demonstrate the benefits of information technology in banking business.

Cloud computing plays an important role and has practical meaning to the development strategy as well as operation of SeABank. In order to have efficient development and application of cloud computing, SeABank has deployed IT service System including servers, Core-Banking infrastructure, and Virtual Desktop Service, application, etc.; thereby helping the Bank to optimize benefits of the existing virtualization platform, providing IT application as a service to serve the Bank’s business targets, to help diversify products and services, ensure system security, prevent data loss, while reduce cost and time of service provision as well as the ability to expand rapidly according to business requirements.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Cuong - Deputy General Director of SeABank said that: "SeABank is one of the few banks in Vietnam who are pioneers in IT application and cloud computing implementation. SeABank is one of the very first banks in Vietnam that applies virtualization technology developed on the basis of cloud computing in banking activities. This is a significant and necessary investment because it brings high efficiency in product and service diversification, implementation of modern online banking services, information security and cost saving in operations. In addition, these technologies also give customers many outstanding advantages, convenient transactions, time and cost saving.In the future, SeABank will continue focusing on investment and development of advanced technologies in the Bank’s operations in order to enhance service quality, striving to become a prominent retail bank in Vietnam". Currently, SeABank is applying core banking system T24 – Temenos with the latest R10 version and is the only joint stock commercial bank in top 5 banks in Vietnam in terms of application of information technology in ICT Index 2011. SeABank has also invested in IT infrastructure to provide customers the best services. SeABank has brought Datacenter with TIE III international standard into application at the Head Office with Cisco Nexus 7000 Switch System, Server IBM P595 and advanced HP XP 2400 Storage System, all contributing to ensure IT support for safe and stable operations of the Bank. SeABank is also the first bank in Vietnam to virtualize servers system with Blade server infrastructure
