Between 10th and 18th of June 2010, Southeast Asia Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SeABank) is implementing the “CITIZEN COMMITMENT WEEK” with a lot of social and charitable activities throughout the network to improve the awareness and responsibilities of SeABank’s management and staff towards the neighboring community and environment. Citizen Commitment Week is initiated and officially launched by Société Générale – the foreign strategic shareholder owing 20% of SeABank’s charter capital, in all its subsidiaries and partners throughout the world.
Within “Citizen Commitment Week 2010”, the following social and charitable events are to be held by SeABank:
- Visiting orphans revived in Bồ Đề Pagoda, Hà Nội: SeABank employees contribute books, clothes, gifts and money and visit orphans in Bồ Đề Pagoda, Hà Nội. This event has been receiving a lot of responses from SeABank employees. With the message “A smile every day”, SeABank staff would like to bring happiness to the disadvantaged children and also bring themselves with delights from sharing.
- Sponsoring 50 million VND to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC): In the framework of “Chắp cánh ước mơ (Dreams come true)” held by the NFVC, SeABank presented the Fund with 50 million VND on the occasion of the Month for Children. The subscription and gifts contributed by enterprises are transferred to the disabled and underprivileged children right away during the program.
- Sponsoring 15 million VND to the “Charity Golf Tournament”: This tournament is held with an aim to call on golfers and enterprises to make contributions for charity purposes. Through this activity, SeABank wishes to attract more and more golfers to join the tournament and contribute more to the fund for children with heart-related diseases via “Nhịp tim Việt Nam - Heartbeat Vietnam” (http://www.nhiptimvietnam.vn/; http://heartbeatvietnam.com/).
- Humanitarian blood donation: SeABank encourages employees to donate blood for an increase of reserves in the central blood bank, timely rescuing ones in urgent needs. The event is scheduled to be deployed in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
- Seeds-giving: Distribute 10.000 seeds to employees to encourage them to grow trees and improve the awareness of green environment protection.
- Bonsai Fair: The fair will be held at the Head Office as a way of fund-raising for cancer-acquired children. In addition, this will be an occasion for SeABank employees to share and enhance their skills of growing trees and protecting the neighboring environment.
- Energy-saving Day: Aware of the necessity of savings of power, water, paper and other energies, SeABank asks all its employees to have a habit of energy saving both in offices and at home, contributing to the reduction of dioxide emissions – a substance causing greenhouse effects, as well as optimally reduce wastes out to the environment. This event will be mobilized with 1 ENERGY-SAVING DAY in SeABank.
Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hương Giang – SeABank’s Deputy General Director said: “I myself really feel moved and delighted to witness positive responses of the entire SeABank’s employees towards the “Citizen Commitment Week”. We always bear in minds that, to make lives more meaningful, each of us should together with others give a hand for good things for the community and our own living environment.
Activities within the “Citizen Commitment Week 2010” are opportunities for SeABank’s employees to participate in social activities for community, and also create a meaningful playground to improve each one’s awareness of the community and bring benefits to the entire society.

Brief introduction of Citizen Commitment Week
Citizen Commitment Week (CCW) is an annual event initiated by Société Générale towards all of its employees as well as partners globally since 2008. CCW is to improve the awareness of social and charity activities, and to welcome all initiatives of fund-raising or voluntary actions, building up and encouraging the solidarity and community responsibilities among SG employees in all countries worldwide.
