Hanoi, June 3, 2026 – SeABank (HOSE: SSB), in collaboration with the Economic Security Division of the Hanoi City Police, organized the seminar "Preventing cyber fraud in the banking system" at Phenikaa University. The program aimed to equip students, faculty, staff, and employees of the university with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and prevent online fraud, thereby raising awareness of digital financial safety.
In recent years, alongside the rapid growth of digital banking and cashless payments, cyber fraud has grown increasingly sophisticated. Perpetrators leverage a range of advanced tactics, including impersonating government authorities or financial institutions, SIM-swapping, stealing personal data and biometric information, and manipulating victims into making unauthorized fund transfers. Students and young people represent a particularly vulnerable demographic, given their frequent use of digital platforms for study, work, and daily transactions.

Against this backdrop, SeABank and the Economic Security Division of the Hanoi City Police jointly organized the seminar to provide students with practical knowledge on digital financial safety, sharpen their ability to recognize emerging fraud tactics, and equip them with the skills to prevent and respond to risk situations when using online banking services.
At the event, experts shared practical insights on the most prevalent fraud methods today, warning signs of cyber financial crimes, personal data protection practices, and core principles for safe banking. Besides, an interactive session titled "Safe banking in the digital age" addressed real-world questions from attendees and fostered a deeper understanding of personal data protection responsibilities in digital environments.

Speaking on behalf of SeABank at the seminar, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Board of Directors, stated: "For SeABank, ensuring customer financial security and cybersecurity is not only the responsibility of a credit institution, but also a social responsibility that contributes to promote community awareness and capability in combating high-tech crime, especially among the younger generation. We believe that equipping students with digital safety knowledge and skills will help build a safer, more transparent, and more sustainable digital financial environment in the future."

Through this seminar, SeABank reaffirms its pioneering role in collaborating with government authorities, educational institutions, and the broader community to promote digital financial safety awareness. The Bank remains committed to advancing awareness-building initiatives that protect customers from cyber fraud threats and to jointly developing a safe, modern, and sustainable digital financial ecosystem.
