IMPORTANT NOTICE – BIOMETRIC DATA UPDATE

Pursuant to Circular No. 17/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 18/2024/TT-NHNN issued by the State Bank of Vietnam regulating banking card operations and transactions, customers will not be able to perform transactions if they have not completed BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION or if their identification documents have expired.

Pursuant to Circular No. 17/2024/TT-NHNN and Circular No. 18/2024/TT-NHNN issued by the State Bank of Vietnam regulating banking card operations and transactions, customers will not be able to perform transactions if they have not completed BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION or if their identification documents have expired.

Accordingly, for customers who have not provided biometric data, whose identification documents have expired, or whose information on file with the Bank does not match the data recorded by the Ministry of Public Security, the following applies:

⚠️ Customers WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE their payment accounts and/or bank cards if their Identification Document (“ID Document”) is no longer valid or has expired.

⚠️ Customers WILL EXPERIENCE INTERRUPTIONS in money transfers and electronic payment transactions (including card payments) if biometric data has not been duly updated.

To ensure the highest level of protection for our customers’ rights and interests, SeABank strongly recommends that customers URGENTLY update their identification information and biometric data no later than December 15, 2025, following the instructions below:

Requirements for successful biometric authentication:

  • Valid Identification Document:
    • A 12-digit chip-based Citizen ID card that is still valid; or
    • A new-format Citizen Identification Card issued from July 1, 2024, in accordance with the Ministry of Public Security’s standards.
  • A mobile device with NFC capability.
  • For customers using ID documents other than CMND/CCCD/Citizen ID, please visit the nearest SeABank branch/transaction office for assistance with biometric data submission and ID information update.

Important notes:

  • Biometric updates are currently supported only via the SeAMobile application or with guidance at SeABank branches/transaction offices nationwide.
  • During the support process, SeABank staff will never send links requesting login, or ask customers to provide usernames, passwords, Citizen ID numbers, OTPs, or any other personal information. SeABank advises customers to remain vigilant against impersonation and fraud attempts.
  • Customers are advised not to purchase or use external NFC devices at home to avoid potential information security risks to personal devices.
