In response to World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8), Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) kicked off its “Ocean Cleanup 2025” program on June 7. On this day, hundreds of SeABank employees jointly cleaned up and collected waste along beaches in 11 provinces and cities, donated trash bins and biodegradable bags to local tourism management boards. This is the 2nd consecutive year SeABank has implemented this meaningful program.
Upholding its core value of “Community-oriented”, SeABank regularly organizes a variety of annual initiatives focused on environmental protection, promoting green spaces, and encouraging a sustainable lifestyle within the community. It's the 2nd year SeABank has launched the “Ocean Cleanup 2025” program with the goal of collecting and removing waste along coastal areas, adding more public trash bins at beaches to encourage proper waste disposal among local residents and tourists.
The program was locally launched by SeABank branches across 11 provinces and cities, including Quang Ninh, Quang Nam, Hai Phong, Hai An, Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. It also received strong support and enthusiastic participation from local authorities and residents.
Particularly, SeABank Ho Chi Minh region 1 coordinated with the Can Gio District Youth Union and the People’s Committee of Can Thanh Town to organize the “Ocean Cleanup 2025” program, featuring activities such as cleaning up the Can Gio coastal area, donating 10 public trash bins and eco-friendly fabric bags, installing message boards to raise public awareness about waste reduction and marine conservation.
In Nha Trang, SeABank employees participated in a mangrove reforestation activity at Dam Bay (Hon Tre Island) - the only mangrove forest in Nha Trang Bay that plays a crucial role in environmental protection, natural resource conservation, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable human livelihoods. Additionally, SeABank Nha Trang has donated 3 sets of source-separated waste bins, and has planed to gift 100 kilograms of biodegradable bags to the Management Board of the Inland Waterway Station (Phu Quy Passenger Wharf) in June 2025. These bags will be distributed to tourists traveling to local islands.
With the aim of creating green spaces, enhancing urban aesthetics, and promoting the development of tourism services, SeABank Da Nang collaborated with local authorities to plant 5 coconut trees along the coastline. Each tree planted today serves as a tangible reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the environment, contributing to form a green lung and natural windbreak. In addition, SeABank employees and local residents will jointly clean up the beaches for 3 consecutive months.
In provinces such as Thai Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam, and Vung Tau, SeABank employees together rolled up sleeves, put on gloves, and carried garbage bags to clean up along the beaches, contributing to a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful environment. Environmental protection message boards were installed in populated areas at the same time. Meanwhile, SeABank Nam Dinh made joint efforts to clean up Quat Lam Beach (Giao Thuy Town) and donated 15 waste bins to the local community.
These meaningful activities will continue to be implemented and expanded from June to August 2025 by SeABank branches located near coastal areas, aiming to maintain clean beaches and protect the oceans, thereby contributing to sustainable development and creating value for the community.
