May 19, 2025 - Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB), in collaboration with the Hoa Binh Provincal Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front (Hoa Binh VFF), organized a ceremony to inaugurate and officially hand over 856 newly built and renovated houses - worth totally VND30 billion - to the poor and disadvantaged in Hoa Binh city, Luong Son District, and Lac Son District (Hoa Binh province). Up to now, SeABank has contributed over VND80 billion to construct and renovate nearly 1,800 homes for poor and low-income households, as well as policy beneficiaries in various provinces including Hoa Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Nha Trang, Hanoi, etc.
In response to the call from the Prime Minister and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to “Jointly eliminate temporary, dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025”, driven by the spirit of solidarity and its core value “Community-oriented”, SeABank has contributed VND30 billion to provide safe, stable homes for the disadvantaged. This effort supports the overarching goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Hoa Binh Province, helping local residents settle with a durable homes and focus on building livelihoods.
After seven months of implementation, SeABank, together with the Hoa Binh VFF and local authorities, has urgently constructed, renovated, and directly handed over 856 charity homes to the poor and near-poor households in Hoa Binh city, Luong Son and Lac Son Districts. According to on-site assessments, all delivered homes meet the “three-solid” standard: solid base, solid wall, and solid roof, in accordance with housing regulations. Thanks to SeABank’s financial support, along with contributions from local governments, communities, and sponsors, Hoa Binh Province has achieved its goal of constructing 2,283 new houses and renovating 911 homes, significantly accelerating progress toward eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Sung A Chenh (Vice Chairman of the Hoa Binh VFF) shared: “We would express profound grateful to SeABank for supporting our province in promoting social welfare, especially through the initiative to build and renovate 856 charity homes for disadvantaged families. These are not only shelters protecting people, but also meaningful gifts that inspire, motivate and empower local people to overcome hardship and build stable lives. The Bank’s compassion and sense of responsibility are a powerful testament to the spirit of solidarity and community connection – the values we truly appreciate.”
Also at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh (Head of SeABank Supervisory Board) shared: “Today, SeABank is hornored to officially hand over 856 charity homes to disadvantaged families in Hoa Binh Province. Through this initiative, we hope to contribute to the province’s efforts in poverty reduction, new rural development, and, most importantly, helping hundreds of households escape poverty sustainably and have safe and decent housing.”
