Hanoi, September 12, 2026 – At the ceremony marking the 50-year journey of developing and celebrating the conferment of Labor Hero title, First-class Labor Medal and Ministry of Public Security’s Certificate of Merit, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) was honored with the First-Class Labor Medal; entrepreneur Nguyen Thi Nga, Standing Vice Chairwoman of SeABank’s Board of Directors, was conferred the title of Labor Hero. In addition, SeABank and Madame Nguyen Thi Nga were each presented with Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Public Security in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the “All People Protecting National Security” movement.
The event was honored by the presence of Politburo Member cum National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Party Central Committee Secretary cum Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra; along with other Party and State leaders, representatives from central ministries, Hanoi and other local authorities, as well as SeABank’s domestic and international partners.
The event marked a special milestone in SeABank’s 32-year journey of building and development (1994 - 2026). These prestigious honors represent the recognition of the Party and State for SeABank’s positive contributions to socio-economic development. Particularly, the First-class Labor Medal was awarded to SeABank in recognition of its outstanding achievements from 2018 to 2022, contributing to building socialism and safeguarding the Fatherland. This is a shared achievement of SeABank’s leadership and employees across generations.

At the same time, the Labor Hero title was awarded to entrepreneur Nguyen Thi Nga, Standing Vice Chairwoman of SeABank’s BOD, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and contributions to building socialism and safeguarding the Fatherland. This prestigious honor recognizes her significant contributions to the development of SeABank and the enterprises under her leadership, as well as to the growth of the country.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man congratulated Labor Hero Nguyen Thi Nga and SeABank on receiving these prestigious honors, while acknowledging Madame Nguyen Thi Nga’s contributions to the building and development of SeABank, as well as the Bank’s contributions to socio-economic development and the community. The Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his expectation that Madame Nguyen Thi Nga would continue to leverage her vision, determination and pioneering spirit, together with SeABank, to drive innovation, enhance governance capabilities, lead the way forward and actualize its global aspirations, thereby making worthy contributions to building an independent, self-reliant, rapidly growing and sustainable Vietnamese economy; for a more prosperous, civilized and happier Vietnam.

Alongside the milestones in business operations and people, at the ceremony, a representative of the Ministry of Public Security also presented Certificates of Merit to SeABank and entrepreneur Nguyen Thi Nga in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the “All People Protecting National Security” movement. The recognition reflects the Bank’s sense of responsibility in cooperating with the authorities, contributing to maintaining security and public order, strengthening economic security, and building a safe and healthy business environment.

32 years of cultivating internal strengths, pursuing customer-centricity
Established in 1994 with an initial charter capital of VND5 billion, SeABank has gradually built a strong foundation in finance, technology, governance and human resources. For many consecutive years, the Bank has been named among the best banks by the State Bank of Vietnam and ranked among the Top 10 most reputable private commercial banks in Vietnam.
From the dawn of its establishment, SeABank has pursued a customer-centric approach, putting customers at the center of all activities. Throughout each stage of development, this approach has been reflected in the Bank’s continuous efforts to improve service quality, diversify products and services, invest in technology, optimize processes, strengthen governance capabilities, develop human resources, and build a business culture grounded in customers’ trust and partnership.

SSB has been included in the VN30 Index, FTSE Global All Cap Index and MSCI Frontier Markets Index, thereby broadening access for domestic and international investors and contributing to strengthening SeABank’s growing position in the financial market.

From internal strengths to shared values
Alongside strengthening its domestic foundations, SeABank has proactively expanded cooperation with international financial institutions to enhance its resources and deepen its engagement with sustainable development goals. The Bank has established partnerships with IFC, DFC, Proparco, FMO, Norfund, OPEC Fund, AIIB, ADB, and other international investment funds, successfully mobilizing nearly US$1.1 billion to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), women-owned businesses, promote financial inclusion, and advance environmental and climate-related initiatives.
The spirit of growing with the nation is also reflected in SeABank’s CSR contributions. Over the years, SeABank has implemented numerous CSR programs, with a total budget of more than VND280 billion (approx. US$10.8 million), notably building and renovating nearly 1,800 houses for families facing difficulties, planting more than 1 million trees, and maintaining a regular scholarship program since 2015 for 220 underprivileged students until high school completion. Programs supporting education, childcare and community development have been conducted annually, becoming a part of the Bank’s culture.
