The concert program “A Song of Joy” (“Khuc Hoan Ca”), featuring the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra (KSO), will take place on October 24 and 25, 2026, at the Ho Guom Theatre in Hanoi. Through its support for this event, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) aims to bring the finest elements of classical art closer to the Vietnamese public, thereby enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the community.
Kyushu Symphony Orchestra – Over 70 Years of Sharing the Excellence of Symphonic Music
Founded in 1953 in Fukuoka, Japan, the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra (KSO) is one of Japan’s distinguished symphony orchestras. Over more than seven decades, KSO has established its reputation through outstanding performances while actively fostering international artistic exchange and collaboration. With more than 130 performances each year, its musicians bring the excellence of symphonic music closer to audiences, nurturing a love of the arts and spreading humanistic values.
Over the two upcoming evenings, audiences in Hanoi will have the opportunity to enjoy world-renowned classical masterpieces conducted by Maestro Gen Ohta, accompanied by two expressive opera soloists: soprano Michiko Hariu and tenor Kohei Yamamoto.
Soprano Michiko Hariu received part of her musical training in Rome, Italy, and won the Special Prize at the Santa Margherita Ligure International Vocal Workshop in 1999. With extensive performance experience, powerful vocals and a deeply expressive style, she has received numerous prestigious awards in Japan and performed leading roles in celebrated operas, including the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and Despina in Così fan tutte.
Joining her is tenor Kohei Yamamoto, who studied at Tokyo University of the Arts and the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, Italy. Throughout his artistic career, Kohei has earned numerous domestic and international accolades and performed notable roles in operas such as La Bohème, La Traviata and The Abduction from the Seraglio. Notably, he also participated in Princess Anio, an opera staged to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

“Khuc Hoan Ca” – Where Love, Emotion and the Beauty of Life Flourish
A highlight of the programme is the combination of opera excerpts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73 – two defining representations of the distinctive beauty of classical music.
In the opening part, Mozart’s music unfolds an enchanting artistic landscape through the bright, graceful melodies and dramatic richness of opera. Through arias and duets, the many nuances of human emotion are brought to life through refined musical expression, vocal artistry and the accomplished interplay between the performers.
The programme then continues with Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, distinguished by its warmth, introspection and lyrical depth. While Mozart captivates listeners with his musical agility and vivid contrasts, Brahms opens up a broader sonic landscape, where evocative melodies develop with remarkable depth and subtlety. These qualities are hallmarks of the German composer's musical language.
The transition between these two musical styles not only gives the programme its distinctive character but also invites audiences to explore the diverse dimensions of classical music. From the elegance and vitality of opera to the contemplative depth of symphonic melodies, “Khuc Hoan Ca” offers a multifaceted artistic journey in which virtuoso performance meets nuanced emotion, creating a deeply enriching aesthetic experience.
Keeping the Excellence of Classical Music Alive Across Generations
The enduring appeal of classical masterpieces lies not only in their artistic merit but also in their ability to transcend time and continue touching the hearts of listeners. Every melody and every note has the power to evoke a sense of shared emotion, forge connections across generations and enrich people’s inner lives. Preserving and promoting the legacy of classical music, while expanding public access to high-quality artistic experiences, has therefore become increasingly meaningful.
As a partner of “Khuc Hoan Ca” at Ho Guom Opera, SeABank aspires to bring the excellence of world music closer to Vietnamese audiences. This initiative reflects the Bank’s commitment to cultural and artistic values while reaffirming the role of businesses in enriching people's spiritual lives and fostering positive values within the community.
This commitment is rooted in SeABank’s enduring purpose: bringing genuine joy and value to people's lives. Over more than three decades of development, alongside creating value in the financial and banking sector, SeABank has actively supported cultural and social initiatives, seeking to build meaningful connections and spread a spirit of humanity. For the Bank, prosperity is measured not only in material wealth but also in a rich cultural and spiritual life, memorable experiences and the capacity to share and connect with others.
Through “Khuc Hoan Ca”, SeABank hopes to nurture a lasting appreciation for the arts, create more opportunities for audiences to discover timeless musical masterpieces and experience their aesthetic value beyond the concert hall. When embraced by contemporary life, artistic heritage is not merely preserved; it is revitalised, becoming a source of inspiration for creativity, community connection and a richer spiritual life. In doing so, SeABank continues to share its vision of a more fulfilling life, in which cultural values and the joy of enriching experiences hold a place of lasting significance.
