In line with the State Bank of Vietnam’s (SBV) interest rate policy, from October 20, 2026, Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) has reduced deposit interest rates by 0.5–0.7 percentage points per annum for tenors of six months and above. The adjustment applies nationwide to new deposits. This move demonstrates SeABank’s proactive and responsible approach to supporting monetary policy, helping stabilize market interest rates and enabling individuals and businesses to access capital at reasonable costs.

On October 18, 2026, the SBV issued Official Letter No. 9608/NHNN-CSTT on implementing measures in credit institutions’ operations. Under the directive, banks are required to reduce listed deposit interest rates by at least 0.5 percentage points per annum for tenors of six months and above, avoid competing to raise deposit rates, and ensure healthy competition. Credit institutions are also required to step up cost-saving measures to create room for lending rate reductions and prioritize credit allocation to production, business activities and priority sectors, thereby contributing to macroeconomic stability and economic growth.

The interest rate reduction follows the Government’s and the SBV’s policy direction to support businesses and individuals in driving economic growth.

In line with the SBV’s guidance, SeABank has proactively reduced deposit interest rates by 0.5–0.7 percentage points per annum for tenors of six months and above. This adjustment helps optimize funding costs and improve funding management, strengthening the Bank’s financial foundation and resilience. It also creates an important basis for the Bank to expand its capacity to reduce lending rates and offer preferential financing solutions, providing greater support to individual and corporate customers.

Alongside the deposit rate adjustment, SeABank continues to review operational processes, control costs and improve capital utilization efficiency. The Bank aims to strengthen its operational foundation, enhance its adaptability to market fluctuations, and maintain safe, efficient growth.
